Elvis Lives!

Wow, things are just getting cooler and cooler. My mom said that a lot of the time I am focusing on events and interviews and she wanted me to just have fun so this month has been a month of surprises. I reminded her that I have fun doing the events and interviews icon wink Elvis Lives! . But Elvis is always a very special surprise. Yesterday my mom announced that we had an adventure to go on. We met my grandmother and went on a one day road trip. The destination, an Elvis tribute show!

Here is my special video of the show:

This is a video preview of what the show is about:

Oh my gosh, we had such fun. They had a bunch of Elvis pictures on display and you can see me and my sister and grandma above. There were so many people there and all of them were huge Elvis fans. They were wearing special hats, shirts, dresses. They carried purses and bags and had pins. I have never seen so much Elvis stuff in one place in all of my life! I was the only little girl there and so many of the people came up to talk to me and ask me about Elvis. They said they wished their grand daughters and great-grand daughters would like Elvis too. They were all so nice. From the shows website:

ELVIS LIVES is an unforgettable multi-media and live musical journey across Elvis’ life featuring four finalists from Elvis Presley Enterprises’ annual worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. The cast members include Bill Cherry, Ben Klein, Kevin Mills and Victor Trevino, Jr., each representing Elvis during different stages in his career. The Elvis tribute artists will be joined by a live band, back-up singers, dancers, along with an Ann-Margret tribute artist, as well as iconic imagery made available from the Graceland archives.

The show was amazing. It told the story of Elvis through his music and they have 4 Elvis tribute artists to play the parts. They were all REALLY good. The end was my favorite and the last Elvis sang and moved the best. My mom and grandma both cried when he sang Glory, Glory Hallelujah and it was a tribute to all of the veterans. So many old gentlemen stood up and they got a standing ovation.

I have been to other shows before and I really like theater – but this was the best show I have ever seen, ever, ever. I think it was because of the fans. My grandma was singing and dancing in her chair. There were thousands of grandmothers singing and dancing and they all looked so young and happy listening to the music and being there.

I know I missed the time of Elvis, but his energy and spirit lives in the music. All over the world, people still love and listen to Elvis and his shows, his music and movies and even Graceland, his house, sees more and more people very day. I wish I would have got to interview at least one of them, but you know what they say “Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has left the building….” Maybe next time.

I am so grateful that my mom shares things from her life with me, and my grandma too.

My favorite Elvis was Bill Cherry. Here is an interview with him I found on youtube, Bill Cherry Interview. And here is a promo video with his awesome singing. His voice is so nice. (Bill, where is your website? My sister Zanna should make you one) icon biggrin Elvis Lives!

I loved Victor Trevino Jr. too. He had the moves! Here is a clip from youtube that I really like and here is his website.

I am so blessed to have such awesome and amazing adventures. Thank you so much mama, I love you.
